The Influence of Competence and Work Discipline on Teacher Performance with Commitment as a Mediating Variable During the Pandemic

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of competence, work discipline on teacher performance by mediating commitment at SMK Turen Malang. This research is a quantitative research with the method of collecting data using a questionnaire. The population in this study amounted to 132 teachers from SMK Widya Dharma and SMK Turen Malang. The sampling method uses non-probability sampling, is saturated samples. From 114 questionnaires collected, the data obtained were then analyzed using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) PLS. The results of the study indicate that the competence variable has a positive and significant influence on teacher performance. While work discipline has a positive effect but not significant on teacher performance. In addition, the results of this study also show that the commitment variable as a mediating variable has a positive and significant influence on the competence and work discipline variables on teacher performance. The implications of the research results are expected to be input for SMK Turen Malang in an effort to optimize potential.
