Breastfeeding is one of the most important determinants of child survival, birth spacing and the prevention of childhood infections. The beneficial effects of breastfeeding depend on its initiation, duration and the age at which the breastfed child is weaned. Little information exists on breastfeeding and infant feeding practices in sub-Saharan Africa, Kenya included. The aim of this study was therefore to asses weaning practices that influencing lactating mothers to early weaning of infants below six months. A cross sectional study was conducted in Wajir County Referral Hospital. A total of 100 respondents were included in the study. All mothers coming to immunization clinics for their children
